Before we get started, you can read more about The Trial of Bill Burn Under Martin’s Act (the song itself) by clicking here.

In time for my two gigs at Sidmouth Folk Festival this summer, I’m very pleased to announce that I’ll be putting out a digi-EP on July 26th. The Trial of Bill Burn Under Martin’s Act will include four tracks, one of which features the wonderful talents of my good friends Nick Hart (melodeon) and Mikey Kenney (fiddle).

Subscribers to my mailing list will get the opportunity to download the EP early, while everyone else can hear it once it reaches Spotify, Apple, Deezer, Amazon and all the other usual places. If you follow me on Spotify (you can do that by clicking here), you should receive notification the second it lands.

The tracks on the EP are:

  1. The Trial of Bill Burn Under Martin’s Act (Roud Broadside B248968)
  2. Holly Ho (Roud 1407) – featuring Nick Hart and Mikey Kenney
  3. Who Hung The Monkey?
  4. Leave Her, Johnny (Roud 354)

Keen-eyed followers will notice that the last of these is a song I’ve dealt with on my blog before. You can read about it here.

I hope to publish my research on the other three songs here on my blog in the next week or so. Watch this space.
